The Merrimac Ferry - Wisconsin's only free ferry - is open for the 2024 season. Operating 24/7 during the season, it connects WIS 113 traffic between Okee in Columbia County and Merrimac in Sauk County across the Wisconsin River.

Plans are underway for a 14 to 15-mile off-road cycling and walking trail between Merrill and Wausau on the east side of the Wisconsin River. The proposed trail would provide a key link to Wisconsin's overall cycling system.
